Established in 2007, Bank of London and The Middle East plc (BLME) is an Islamic
bank authorised and regulated by the FSA headquartered in the City of London, which is the
largest centre for Islamic finance outside the Muslim world. BLME has its own Sharia`a
Supervisory Board to monitor its practices, policies and governance and ensure they
are in accordance with Sharia`a principles.
